October 28, 2010

Yale University will observe Veterans Day on Thursday, November 11, with a ceremony on Beinecke Plaza at 12:00 pm.

The ceremony will include remarks of remembrance from Yale students and faculty and the traditional laying of a wreath in front of the alumni war memorial.

Yale School of Music students will participate as part of the Veterans Day Brass Ensemble and a vocal quartet. The members of the Veterans Day Brass Ensemble are Paul E. Futer ’12, trumpet; Kyle S. Sherman ’11, trumpet; Mimi Zhang ’12, horn; Brian R. Reese ’11, trombone; and Landres T. Bryant, ’12 tuba. A choral group, organized last year by Tian Ng and continued this year by Dashon Burton ’11MM, will perform an excerpt from Ildebrando Pizzetti’s Missa di Requiem as the wreath is walked down to the cenotaph. In addition to Burton, the singers are Arianne Abela ’10MM, Colin Britt ’10MM, and Tuesday Rupp ’12DIV.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in Woolsey Hall. For additional information, call 203 432-2317.

Hi, I wonder if this ceremony is available for non-students.
I’m visiting Yale around that date and would love to watch this concert.
