Danish String Quartet plays music by Haydn, Schubert, and Adès Feb. 17

danish-quartet-h-webThe Oneppo Chamber Music Series at the Yale School of Music presents the Danish String Quartet in concert on Tuesday, Feburary 17 at 7:30 pm.

The young Scandinavians will begin their program with Haydn‘s String Quartet in F minor, Op. 20, No. 5. Also on the program is Thomas AdèsArcadiana, a piece about various vanished or vanishing idylls.

The program will conclude with Schubert‘s popular String Quartet No. 15 in G major, D. 887.

Of the ensemble, the New York Times says,”The musicians [are] acutely attuned to one another… every nuance, phrase and gesture [is] beautifully wrought.”

As part of their visit to Yale, the members of the quartet will also work with School of Music students in chamber music master classes.
