Norfolk: Yale's Summer School of Music

Amidst the rolling hills and winding roads of northwest Connecticut sits the village of Norfolk, home to the Yale Summer School of Music-Norfolk Chamber Music Festival since 1941. The School and Festival are committed to intensive, intimate professional training of gifted young musicians through coaching, concerts, lectures and master classes.

The summer offers three programs: a two-week new music workshop, a six-week chamber music session, and a one-week chamber choir and choral conducting workshop. The Norfolk programs are among the most selective summer music offerings in the world. All participants in the chamber music session and the new music workshop receive a full scholarship, including tuition, housing and meals.

All summer long, Norfolk presents concerts and lectures featuring guest artists as well as performers drawn from the Festival’s renowned faculty and fellows.
