
If you are currently enrolled in a degree program at the Yale School of Music and would like to apply to the AD or MMA, please follow the guidelines below.
The online application form for 2010-2011 is due on December 1, 2009.
The application fee is $100. There are no fee waivers or refunds. Unpaid applications are not reviewed. We prefer application fees to be paid by credit card or electronic check on the online application. Otherwise, please send a check or money order payable to Yale University. Include your name and application reference number on the check. All checks must be in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank.
We would prefer a letter from your major teacher. Please be sure to follow up with your recommender to avoid delays.
(MMA Applicants Only) Writing samples should be roughly between 5 and 20 pages in length. Please do not submit a sample longer than 20 pages. The topic may be musical or non-musical. All writing samples must be in English. We prefer writing samples to be uploaded electronically into the online application. Please do NOT submit a duplicate paper copy if you have already uploaded an electronic copy.
Current YSM students are not required to submit prescreening recordings, transcripts, resumes, TOEFL scores, or GRE scores.
