The bold and innovative alumniVentures program gives back to YSM alumni, offering the opportunity to advance the cause of music by funding diverse projects. The grants are made possible by gifts to the Alumni Fund.
Schools providing grants to its own alumni are rare in the world of higher education. In explaining the inspiration for alumniVentures, which was established in 2008, Dean Blocker said: “Knowing how many musicians sacrifice financial security because of their passion for music, I wanted to assist and acknowledge some of these extraordinary contributions to our art.”
We invite you to browse the descriptions of past alumniVentures winners and, if you’re a School of Music graduate, to submit your own application for a future grant.
- All School of Music alumni are eligible, with preference given to those who are engaged in full-time music occupations.
- Recipients of alumniVentures grants cannot reapply until four years after the award year.
- alumniVentures Committee members cannot apply for grants until five years following their Committee membership.
Please note: The application season is currently closed. More information will be posted about the upcoming application cycle when available.
