Zachary Wadsworth ’07MM named a winner in King James Bible Composition Awards

Composer Zachary Wadsworth ’07MM was named a winner in the King James Bible Composition Awards, held Tuesday, May 17 at the Temple Church in London, England. His composition for chorus and organ, "Out of the South Cometh the Whirlwind," was selected from more than one hundred international entries in the category of works for experienced choirs.

In addition to receiving a prize of £2,000, Zachary will have his composition published by the English publisher Novello. It will be performed during a service celebrating the King James Bible at Westminster Abbey on November 16, 2011. It will also be broadcast on Aled Jones’ program The Choir on BBC Radio 3 on Sunday 19th June, 2011.

A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Yale School of Music, Zachary Wadsworth is currently pursuing a DMA in music composition at Cornell University. A native of Virginia, he currently lives in Calgary, Alberta. His anthem "Out of the South Cometh the Whirlwind" sets verses from the Book of Job.
