Trombones takes the stage May 5

This Saturday, the trombone studio of Scott Hartman presents a recital in Sprague Hall. The performance, which begins at 8 pm, features composers from Leopold Mozart to Charles Small. Contemporary composers include Stiepan Šulek, Tommy Pederson, and Georges Delarue. The program also includes arrangements and transcriptions from Bizet’s Carmen, Schubert’s Schlachtlied, and Michel Corette’s Concert Le Phénix.

In addition to Hartman, performers include Matthew Russo ’12MM, Brittany Lasch ’12MM, and the Handsome Dans Quartet – Benjamin Firer  ’12MM, Hana Beloglavec ’13MM, and Timothy Hilgert ’13MM, tenor trombones, and Jeffery Arredondo ’13MM, bass trombone.

Guest trombonists include Ruben Rodriguez ’11MM and Samuel Kruse ’15BA. Pianist Joel Wizanksy will also perform.
