As a music critic/reviewer of 15 years & serious opera-goer for 40, its been a very long time since I have heard such a young voice with such freshness, clarity, purity & a pianissimo to die for! I really had to go back to the very young Freni recordings of the 60’s, or even earlier Tebaldi ones from the 50’s to hear this kind of sound from a female throat. If she spends the next decade avoiding the bigger, heavier things like Butterfly, Desdemona, even Traviata, & focuses on roles like Liu (wow!), Nedda, Micaela & the Countess in Figaro, she’ll have a major international future!! I know …………….I’ve seen them all in the post-Callas era!
