Andy Berry '16MM wins prize from Dell'Arte Opera

Andy Berry '14BS, '16MM was selected for the top award in the Osgood/dell'Arte Opera Ensemble Participation Prizes.

The announcement noted, “Mr. Berry has been the incarnation of reliability in every way, from bedrock-solid musicality and preparation to his ever-ready supply of physical wit and inventiveness. He never failed to deliver and indeed to surprise in rehearsal as each of his featured roles was addressed for the first time. His sensual bass anchored every ensemble in TWO operas in both rehearsal and performance"

The announcement concluded: “It is astounding every day to realize anew that this singer is only 22 years old; he works and delivers like a completely seasoned professional. It is thrilling to contemplate the career that lies ahead of him.”

Dell'Arte Opera nurtures emerging opera artists through rehearsal and performance opportunities, seminars, and master classes. The organization also seeks to attract new audiences by offering high-quality opera presentations featuring exciting young artists at little or no cost. Young singers receive free private coaching, the support of colleagues, and collaboration with professional instrumentalists, culminating in a highly enriching performance experience.
