The Faculty Artist Series at the Yale School of Music presents the complete Beethoven cello sonatas in one afternoon. They will be performed by pianist Peter Frankl and cellist Ole Akahoshi on Sunday, February 8 at 2:00 pm.
"To play Beethoven's five cello sonatas is to trace his life story," cellist Steven Isserlis has written. The sonatas span each of Beethoven's three creative stages, and to perform them in one afternoon is a significant achievement. For audiences, the opportunity to hear all five together is unusual and exciting.
Cellist Ole Akahoshi is most recently recognizable for mesmerizing audiences during his duet with Yo-Yo Ma in a sold-out concert in January. FACULTY PROFILE
