Norfolk Chamber Music Festival–Yale Summer School of Music

Concerts | Summer 2020

COVID-19 Response

In light of the CoVid-19 crisis, we found it necessary to cancel this summer’s season of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival–Yale Summer School of Music. Our primary concern is the safety and health of our patrons, fellows, faculty, and staff and we are greatly saddened that we will miss seeing, talking, and enjoying concerts with all of you on the Estate grounds, and around the town of Norfolk.

We will present several programs this summer that can be streamed online, including four new Saturday night concerts by renowned Norfolk Faculty and Fellows:  the Brentano Quartet, clarinetist David Shifrin, cellist Paul Watkins, pianists Robert Blocker and Melvin Chen and three outstanding Fellows ensembles: The Maverick Brass Quintet, the Norfolk Woodwind Quintet and the Viano String Quartet.

We will also provide weekly conversations hosted by Director Melvin Chen with these Norfolk Artists as well as two Introduction to Chamber Music conversations with our regular Friday night lecturer, Paul Berry. Please check this link for complete information on these and other online presentations. You can also join our on-line community via email, FacebookInstagram, or Youtube.

The one thing you can be assured of is that we are looking ahead to future summers, where we will continue to present spectacular concerts featuring our amazing fellows and our inspiring faculty.

We hope that you and your families are safe and healthy, and please do not hesitate to be contact us for any reason.
