About

Ever since Sprague Memorial Hall was built in 1917, it has been home to chamber music performances. The origins of this series can be traced to concerts organized by Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge, widely considered the godmother of chamber music in America. She was responsible for the construction of Sprague Hall as a memorial to her father, Albert Arnold Sprague.

David Shifrin became the artistic director of the series in 2009. In 2011, the series was renamed in honor of Vincent Oneppo ’74MM, who served Yale throughout his rich career and directed the chamber music series for many years.
