Doris Yarick-Cross is an internationally celebrated soprano and a distinguished teacher of singing. She has appeared with major opera companies, as a soloist with orchestra, and as a recitalist throughout North America, Europe, and Australia. In Germany, with members of the Hessian Radio Orchestra, she has conducted performances of Handel’s Messiah andThe Creation, Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, Verdi’s Requiem, and Brahms’s German Requiem. As a recitalist, Yarick-Cross has appeared in 48 of the 50 United States, and recorded Lieder and French songs for Hessian Radio.
At the Yale School of Music, Yarick-Cross teaches a studio of graduate-level opera students and is the Artistic Director of Yale Opera. Under her leadership, Yale Opera has become one of the premier training programs for young singers, who go on to perform leading roles at such celebrated opera companies as the Metropolitan Opera and those in Chicago, San Francisco, Berlin, Munich, and Vienna.
