Pianist and conductor Kyle Swann has appeared with numerous orchestras and opera companies in the United States, Europe, and South America.His repertoire includes staples of the symphonic literature, staged works, and countless art songs. Swann serves as the choirmaster and organist at Grace Episcopal Church in Hartford, Conn.
At the Yale School of Music, Swann serves as a vocal coach for graduate-level students in the Yale Opera program and as a collaborative pianist for art-song recitals. He is also a faculty member at the Hartt School at the University of Hartford, where he teaches courses in diction, literature, accompanying, and conducting in addition to working as a vocal coach and conductor. Swann has worked as a coach and conductor with Opera Theater of Connecticut, Mississippi Opera, and Connecticut Opera, among many others, and frequently teaches master classes and adjudicates competitions.
Swann earned his bachelor of music and master of music degrees from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford. His principal teachers included Sidney Harth, Eleazer de Carvalho, Arthur Winograd, and Raymond Hanson.
