Arriving for your YSM audition
All the information you need for your Yale School of Music audition, plus travel information and where to stay.
On the day of your audition, please check in at Hendrie Hall any time after 8 a.m. You will receive your audition and warm-up locations at that time.
Note that the main entrance to the Adams Center for Musical Arts (165 Elm St.) is located on the parking lot side of the building. From Elm Street, the entrance can be located by following the path on the right of the building and making a left at the corner. Alternatively, you may also follow the path from Leigh Hall at 435 College St. The entrance will be on your right.

On the day of your audition, the best phone number for emergencies is 203 432-4155. If you have a question that is not urgent, please wait until you check in on campus, as we will have staff and students available to help answer questions. Additionally, you can send email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rooms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not need to sign up for these rooms. Practice rooms will be available from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the day of your audition (and one day before) at the following two locations:
- Hendrie Hall (165 Elm St.): Please remember that the entrance is located on the parking lot side of the building.
- Sprague Memorial Hall (470 College St.): Please enter Sprague Memorial Hall through the main doors on College Street and go downstairs one level to the practice facilities. Someone will be available open the door, which is typically locked.

Getting to Yale

From Union Station to campus: Once you reach Union Station, we strongly encourage you to take a taxi to campus. There is a taxi stand outside the station and there are always taxis available. A taxi will cost $8-$10. Uber and Lyft also operate in New Haven.
