Congratulations, Class of 2025!

The Yale School of Music's commencement ceremony will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 12 p.m., in Morse Recital Hall in Sprague Memorial Hall, following the Yale University ceremony on Old Campus. 

During our ceremony, we will acknowledge the conferral of degrees and announce the recipients of student commencement prizes.  

Please join us on May 19 to celebrate the YSM Class of 2025!

Fri, Mar. 28 | 4 p.m. EDT | Cap and gown order deadline 
Caps and gowns are required at University and YSM commencement ceremonies. Place your order here.  

Mon, Apr. 7 | 11:59 p.m. EDT | Diploma name-check deadline 
Check your name in Yale Hub. Click Commencement Menu, then click Diploma Name. Submit any changes here.  

Mon, Apr. 7 | 11:59 p.m. EDT | Name-pronunciation deadline 
Visit Yale Hub to record the pronunciation of your name. Click Personal Data, then click Name Coach. 

Wed, Apr. 9 | 4 p.m. EDT | Final deadline to order cap and gown ($10 late fee) 
Place your order here.  

Tue, Apr. 15 | 4 p.m. EDT | Deadline to request Old Campus guest tickets 

Your guests must have tickets for the Old Campus ceremony. You will receive up to 2 guest tickets. Refer to emails from University Events (university.events@yale.edu) to confirm these tickets. 

Wed, May 1 | 11:59 p.m. EDT | Commencement RSVP deadline

YSM Commencement Ceremony Rehearsal 
Fri, May 16 | 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. EDT | Meet in the Adams Center Atrium to practice procession to Sprague Hall
This rehearsal is mandatory for all graduating YSM students who plan to walk in the ceremony on May 19. A reception will follow in the Adams Center Atrium. 

YSM Commencement Concert 
Sun, May 18 | 3 p.m. EDT | Morse Recital Hall in Sprague Memorial Hall
A showcase concert performed by graduating YSM students.
Free. Tickets and reservations not required | More info  

YSM Continental Breakfast 
Mon, May 19 | 8-9:30 a.m. EDT | The Graduate Club (155 Elm St.) 
Open to graduating YSM students, faculty, staff, and their guests.
Graduating students, RSVP to reserve space for yourself and your guests. 

After breakfast: 

Graduating YSM students should assemble on Cross Campus behind WLH.  

Guests attending the Old Campus ceremony should proceed directly to Old Campus. 

University Commencement Ceremony 
Mon, May 19 | 10:30 a.m. EDT | Old Campus | More info 

  • Graduating students in regalia walk in procession with their school and do not need a ticket to enter Old Campus. 

  • To enter Old Campus, guests must present a QR code ticket. Click here for details.

  • YSM guests who are not attending the Old Campus ceremony can view the livestream in Morse Recital Hall in Sprague Memorial Hall. 

Immediately following the Old Campus ceremony: 

YSM graduates assemble at the Adams Center to walk in procession to Morse Recital Hall.
Guests should proceed directly from Old Campus to Morse Recital Hall to secure their seats.
