2025–2035 Strategic Plan
We are privileged to work with students of extraordinary talent and dedication. Our mission is not merely to prepare them for success in music; it is also to cultivate artists who contribute meaningfully to society. We aim to foster a vibrant, welcoming environment where performers and composers can reach their highest potential, supported by an internationally renowned faculty and the remarkable resources of one of the world’s greatest universities.
The Strategic Plan embraces both tradition and transformation, while remaining rooted in our core values:
- We uphold the highest standards in all artistic and academic pursuits.
- We leverage Yale’s intellectual and cultural assets to drive creativity and innovation.
- We connect with local and global partners to prepare students as leaders and collaborators in a changing world.
Strategic Goals
Through a highly inclusive process that solicited the thoughts and hopes of all stakeholders in the
School’s success, our community identified three key priorities that will help define our planning for the next decade.
Professional Readiness
Collaboration and Community
Shaping the Future
Additional details and our strategies for achieving these ambitious goals are outlined in the full plan.
The mission statements of Yale University and the School of Music served as guideposts for the Strategic Plan.
