YSM students to perform in Paris at Arts Arena recital

Three YSM students will perform in Paris, France in a recital presented by Arts Arena. David Leigh, bass; Claudia Rosenthal, soprano; and Esther Park, piano, will perform selections from Schubert to Sibelius and Puccini to Cole Porter.

The recital takes place Friday, March 7 at Hôtel de Talleyrand.

David Leigh and Claudia Rosenthal are part of the Yale Opera program, which is under the artistic direction of Doris Yarick Cross. Both will earn their Master of Music degrees this May.

Pianist Esther Park '12 AD, '13 MMA has recently won the José Roca Piano Competition and International Russian Music Competition.

Rosenthal will sing selections by Shubert, Sibelius, Massenet, and Puccini. Leigh will perform pieces by Richard Strauss, Ned Rorem, Verdi, and others. Both singers will come together to sing selections from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro as well as songs by Yale alum Cole Porter.

Philip Breeden, the Minister Counselor for Public Affairs (Information and Cultural Affairs) at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, will give the opening remarks for the recital.
