Firth, Pond and Co. was a partnership consisting of John Firth, Sylvanus Billing Pond, and their sons Thaddeus Firth and William A. Pond. It flourished in New York from 1847/48 to 1863. The provenance of this instrument is uncertain, but it might well be the fife in C that once belonged to the collector D. Archambeault of Bristol, Connecticut.
