Description
Free-reed instrument with a body similar to a guitar or cello, with a keyboard and bellows. Played resting on the thigh, with the right hand operating the bellows and the left operating the keyboard. Invented in 1837 by Leclerc, a Parisian watchmaker. Eventually superceded by the harmonium.
