Composer Krists Auznieks ’16MM ’22DMA was elected chair of the board of the Latvian Composers Union.
Composer Natalie Dietterich ’16MM ’17MMA received a MacDowell Fellowship, won a Nief-Norf International Call for Scores, and signed with Donemus Publishing in the Netherlands.
Violinist Alexander Goldberg ’22BA ’23MM was awarded a research grant through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Goldberg is studying at the Stauffer Center for Strings in Cremona, Italy.
Luke Haaksma ’24MM and Ryan Lindveit ’19MM ’20MMA each won a Morton Gould Young Composer Award from the ASCAP Foundation.
Thomas Hicks ’17MM was appointed assistant professor of music and piano, director of piano, and artistic director of the International Piano Series at the College of Chaeston.
Pianist Carter Johnson ’23MMA ’29DMA won the silver medal at the Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition. In addition to a cash prize, Johnson will be engaged for concert appearances in the upcoming season and receive a recording contract. Pianist Hyojin Shin ’22MM ’23MMA won the Sascha Gorodnitzki Discretionary Prize at the Bachauer Competition.
Mickenna Keller ’23MM ’24MMA won the second oboe/English horn position with the Syracuse Orchestra.
Wilhelm Magner ’24MM was appointed assistant professor of viola at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin.
Double-bassist Gregory Robbins ’12MM was appointed director of orchestras and assistant professor of music at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
Flutist Elvin Schlanger ’22MM won the third flute/piccolo position with the Las Vegas Philharmonic.
Tubist Antonio Underwood ’87MM was featured on the cover of Insights Success and recognized as the magazine’s “trailblazing leader to follow in 2024.”
Soprano Lisa Williamson ’12MM was appointed assistant professor of voice at the Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance.
Bassoonist Lucas Zeiter ’24MMA won a position with the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra in Japan.
