YSM community mourns the passing of Ingram Marshall

Ingram Marshall died on Tuesday, May 31, at age 80 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Ingram was a revered composer and beloved teacher whose distinctive musical voice engaged listeners with new soundscapes that reflected an immense imagination and explored the possibilities of time and space. The School of Music was fortunate to have Ingram teach composition as an adjunct faculty member. Colleagues and students alike have recalled the importance of Ingram’s personal and musical voice in our midst. Ingram’s was a presence that enlarged us all. A concert honoring and celebrating Ingram’s life will be presented during the 2022-2023 season.
